about

From about 1982 onwards, I have been aware of the music of Michael Head and the various bands he has fronted. Back in 1999, I was even lucky enough to support Shack (with Fruit Machine in Brighton) and this song is about those early days of loving the two Pale Fountains albums ( 'Faded postcards from summers 82-85'), which were lifelines to me and my friends growing in in the boring suburbs of Chichester.
At some point I will summon up the courage to forward this track to the great man himself. Go 'ead!

about

Lightning Dept Brighton, UK

Lightning Dept. started with the misreading of a store sign. Songs over 3 minutes in length are frowned upon and everything you hear is first, second or (God forbid) third take.
THINGS KEEP BLOWING UP is pop magic.
HELLO ICEBERG, here in rough mix format has never been officially finished.
For lovers of indie rock everywhere. Song titles are as important as choruses.
Welcome to our world!
